Hi Ernest
I need your help again.
I am trying to make my site searchable by keywords. Or more accurately I ma trying to make the keyword search more effective.
At the moment it’s possible to search by product title and by category very effectively. However if you search for a word within the product description, whilst the product containing that word appears the keyword is not highlighted.
Try searching for Sandbatch
You will see it returns two products. However, as the search term (Sandbatch) is not highlighted it’s not possible to see it on the results page. In effect the search has been useless.I have checked ‘highlight search term in results’ but this only worls with live search and then only if the search term appears in the first five lines of the entry.
Can you help?
May 1, 2020 at 8:48 am #27049Hi!
The plugin cannot highlight the keywords on the results page, only on the live results list.
I think there are custom codes/plugins that might be capable of this to some degree – but I do not plan to implement this feature to the plugin, because it is very inconsistent, and highly depends on the theme and configuration (layout, excerpt length etc..)
Best,
