Hello,
I recently contacted your company to enquire about purchasing the plugin and whether it was capable of acheiving a similar style and function as the two drop down search boxes at the top of this page https://www.wedding-bands.co.uk/ which filter category and location.
I have been reading up onthe plugin and watching tutorials for several months and thought i wold take the leap and buy the plugin today.
I am also linked up with other peple who sue the plugin so have asked their advice.
Unfortinately i am unable to create anything like the above and cannot even get the plugin to produce two boxes as in tyhe link. Can you offer me any advice in how i might go about achieving this.
As a note i am currently just testing things on my site and am building templates etc whihc i will download along with a search button before wiping site and building the proper site. I have decided to do this so i make sure eveything is fucntioning and styled before scaling.
Any advce appreciated.

A very similar example to that is probably this one. First, I recommend checking the step-by-step tutorial associated with that demo.
Best,
That should explain various shortcodes, filters and how they are created. Depending on how the locations are stored, you are probably looking for either a taxonomy term or custom field filter.
These should explain probably everything you may need in details.

July 18, 2020 at 8:05 am #28552Morning,
I went through the tutorial and to be honest was intially not that happy with the results.
I have also now made some other modifications and it is getting much closer to the style i am looking for.
There are 2 things needed to make the filter loook like the style of the filter on the link i sent:
1. Can i remove the search bar at the top of the first column? If so how do i acheive this?
2. Can i also remove the result box on the right hand side of the page ?
Thank you for your assistance

1. Sure, you can turn on this option.
2. I assume you don’t want to display live results whenever changing the filters. For that, you can turn off the live search triggers here: https://i.imgur.com/q2tcB1S.png
Best,
If you want the search button to redirect to the results page, then this option will do the trick: https://i.imgur.com/0dhlhXU.png

July 18, 2020 at 11:32 am #28564Hi Ernest,
Thank you so much for the prompt reponse. I implimented your guidance and its almost perfect. It works perfectly and it looking much better and as i wanted.
I removed the tags header label and also addedshow all tags option and named it “Select Region”
I have looked at the cateorgy and tax terms and can’t see an option to remove the category header is it possible? Also is it possible to have Select Category in the box as i have done for tags? and finally is it possible to have the filters set to “Select Region” / ” Select Category” as default?
thank you for all the support i have several more fileres to set up and can replicatre them from the advice and guidance tyou have given so thank you

Sure, you can change the box header text and add the “select all/any” option here: https://i.imgur.com/h2K2b0d.png
Best,
I hope this helps 🙂

July 27, 2020 at 8:23 am #28699Hi Ernest
Thank you for all your help. Is it possible to have horizontal layout?
I have tried to do this myself using 3 columns and can get the category and region boxs correct. However, the search button always always shows under the category box and insoite of moving the shortcodes around in differnt columns it remains under the category box.
Thank you
Tim
July 27, 2020 at 1:55 pm #28712Hi Tim,
The default layout is horizontal, I am guessing it breaks a line, because the third column does not fit. I recommend checking if the container (where the box is placed in) is wide enough. You can lower the column width by a few pixels here – that may also help.
