    Hi Guys,

Awesome plugin, so many features, but I wonder if you can help me please.

Basically I had a plgin previously that I configured to look and feel exactly like my website design eg: http://www.web.rcht.nhs.uk. (admin login same as username & password given above) Unfortunately as you can see from my dev it doesn’t work with https:

However yours is now bought and installed and working lovely, but I cannot get my head around styling it to look like the version in my dev version.

Are you able to help please?

    1) Be a white background on the input and sit correctly in the space (this I just cannot get to happen)

    2) The white dropdown list of results needs to sit flush with the bottom of the white input box ( so it looks seamless)

    3) The thumbs (featured images) need to be circular

I hope you can help, in the meantime I will carry on playing with it.

Look forward to hearing from you
    Rich

    Hi!

Sure, I can help you with these.

Could you please install, activate and place the search where you want it, so I can proceed from there?

Then maybe I’m looking at the wrong url? On the http://www.web.rcht.nhs.uk/ I’m seeing a different search in the menu. Or is it the caching?

Sorry bud thats the dev address, (http://www.web.rcht.nhs.uk/) I gave you that to see what the search looks like that doesn’t work with https πŸ™‚

If you go to http://www.royalcornwall.nhs.uk/wp-admin and log in using the same credentials then you will see your new search in the same position ready for styling πŸ™‚

    Sorry for any confusion

    Hi!

I did a few nice and one nasty change you should be aware of.

The nasty change is, that I had to make a tiny change to the ubermenu standard css file, because it was overriding everything inside the search box and there was no other solution unfortunately.
The change is in the ubermenu/standard/styles/basic.css file on line 11. It was this:

    #megaMenu.megaResetStyles div,

but this rule basically overwrote every div including the search divs inside of it, so I changed that line to this:

    #megaMenu.megaResetStyles div:not(.probox),
    #megaMenu.megaResetStyles div:not(.probox *),

The other changes are only minor changes on the search configuration, and a few lines of custom css, which you can see on the Theme Options->Custom Css tab on the search options panel.

I hope, that this is how you imagined the search engine.

    Best,
    Ernest Marcinko

Awesome thank you bud, a few quick questions though

    1) The search bar itself needs to fit in the area (alongside the menu) currently it’s slightly too wide – can that be fixed at all please?

    2) Can the results box be pushed up to be flush with the search input box?

    3) Can the 1 pixel with rounded corners border on the search results be removed please?

    4) Can the post type titles be displayed in the results? (e.g. pages, news, etc etc)?

    5) Can the more results link at the bottom have a blue background with white writing (like the dev version)?

    6) Can the featured image (circles) be made slightly smaller please as the search bar is so narrow now that the text is getting very squashed?

Thank you for all your hard work on this really appreciated

Sorry also forgot to ask can those styles you changed in the ubermenu be put in my custom css styling for the theme?

It’s only that if left where they are and ubermeu has an update then I’ll loose them

    Cheers

Unfortunately they can’t be moved. On my previous post you can see what is changed exactly, so if you update the ubermenu, you just copy/paste the code into that file and it’s done. If there was a better solution I would definitely done it.

    As for your other questions:

    1. You will find some custom css text in the Theme Options -> Custom CSS tab. There is a width defined on the box, I believe it’s 220px !important now. You can adjust that number to a width that you prefer.

    2. I don’t think I understand this. Could you please make a screenshot, or illustrate it somehow?

    3. Done + I added a bit of box shadow to make it more appealing.

    4. Only with custom coding, using the search filters. Try to add the following code to the themes functions.php file, it should display the post type before the post title:
    http://pastebin.com/KNKLKNSB

    5. Yes. Done.

    6. Yes. I reduced it to 50 pixels from 70. You can adjust the size on the Image options tab.

Brilliant thank you bud, really appreciated, awesome support, so impressed – gonna have to write you a testimonial me thinks πŸ™‚ What I was missing so much with the other plugin…

    Regarding point 2.

Its the gap between the input box and the results that are loaded, currently about 40px I would say, I just want that removed so that it looks like the results are touching the input box, if you have a look on the dev http://www.web.rcht.nhs.uk (old plugin) you will see what I mean πŸ™‚

I see now! Sorry for the late answer, I’ve been busy with some coding πŸ™‚

I did a modification, now the result box should be exactly under the search box.

1 last question, please can you let me have some css @media for the input box for an iPad in landscape orientation, I have hidden the search for iPhone etc and it’s hidden for iPad portrait but I do need to show it on rotation.

    Hi Bud,

Are you able to help me with something please?

You kindly fixed the search for me on this page http://www.royalcornwall.nhs.uk a while back, however on my development copy (which is an exact copy) http://demo.cornwallitservices.nhs.uk/rcht/ it doesn’t appear the same, it is missing the white background and it slightly misaligned.

If I give you some login details (if you email me at [email protected] I can supply) would you be able to fix it please?

Look forward to hearing from you

Sure. I suggest you open another ticket (or you can use this one as well), and upload a txt file with the login details and everything needed. It’s safe, not accessible to anyone else but me and you. (ticket owner)
