Tag found before Title

Dear Sir / Madam,

I have a question about the order on the result page when something is being searched.
In the backend i use the relevance options and choose Title as the highest result.
But when i check the results on the page i first get blogs that contain the tag. Instead of the blog with title of the exact match.

Could you give me a pointer where it is going wrong?

Dear Dutch,

I see you are using posts, pages and tags as results. If I understand correctly you want to display posts and post type objects as results first. In that case change the Mixed results order option on the General Options -> Behavior panel, so the “post_page_cpt” option is the first: http://i.imgur.com/7XMV0Gq.png

This way the post type results will appear before the term type results at all times.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I changed the option you showed me.
But the first result it showed me on the result page is “Appelcake met anijs” when i expected “Kwarkmuffins met appel en banaan” on top when looking for “appel”.

Hi Dutch,

I see what you mean now. I’ve configured and enabled the index table engine for you, as I believe it’s much better for your needs. To learn more about it, you can check the index table chapter in the documentation here: https://goo.gl/ooNYPY

It works better with your current keyword logic, as this also counts the word occurrence when calculating the relevance. It should return results most likely more relevant for what you might expect.
