Unable to open results in a new windo

Hello,

I’m using Ajax Search Pro on the home page of my website. The search bar is successfully providing search suggestions as a list under the search bar.

But when I press enter on a search, it won’t open the results in a new page.

I have enabled the option “Open the results in a new window?” which is under Results behavior on the Layout option page. But the search still won’t open in a new page.

I’ve provided a screenshot. However, I am not comfortable providing admin login information in this form.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this problem.

Hi Brian,

I think you are looking for these options here.
That option on the Results behaviour panel defines what happens when the user clicks on one of the results on the results list, not the return/magnifier key actions.

Thank you, the option you provided is exactly what I needed. However, now I have another question.

When I select Redirect to: Results page, the new page provides the body of the posts but does not show the title for each post. Therefore, the content of multiple posts all run together.

Is there a way to customize the results page? Ideally, I would like it to provide the title and the first few lines of each post.

Hi Brian,

The results page is fully controlled by the theme you are using. The plugin only redirects to it. You will have to ask the theme author for that.
