    Hi Ernest,
    it ‘s me again…..

I am trying to use only the search button as a search trigger and followed your instructions like
    https://documentation.ajaxsearchpro.com/frontend-search-settings/search-button#using-only-the-search-button-to-trigger-the-search

Therefore I set up a new search instance [wd_asp id=59] and to check if it’ s working a test page
    https://marine-project.com/gebrauchtboot-test20181011/

“Trigger live search when changing a facet on settings” is set to OFF, but results a still loaded when visiting above mentioned URL.

Note: before being directed to WP-Login you will need to Htaccess authorisation:
    **

    Again thanks for your help!

    Best Regards,
    Wolfgang

    Hi Wolfgang,

    Thank you for the details!

It happens, because you have the auto-populate feature enabled: https://i.imgur.com/BLeWkoZ.png
If you disable it, then no results will appear on the initial page load.

    Ok,

but is there a way to use only the search button as a search trigger?

I want the user to be able to check one or more options without loading results. Results should only be loaded after clicking the search button…

    Best Regards,
    Wolfgang

You are right, that should be the case.

Because the search bar was hidden by default, the plugin automatically overrides the facet option. This was implemented before the search button was available, now it is actually a bug.

I have resolved it, by turning off this option, and adding this custom CSS to hide the search bar explicitly.

Now it should work as expected. I will make sure to correct this behaviour in the upcoming release.

    Bingo! Works….

Thank you again for your quick help.

Best Regards and have a great day,
    Wolfgang

Could you please remove the note about the Htaccess authorisation.
