What to show if multiple categories are selected

Hi, if let say one article is selected in multiple categories (Example interviews and startups categories).

Now when I am creating a search bar for startup articles. I am adding search bar to that article template which is an interview also and startup also. But in final result the search bar is not showing as I have only included startups not interviews in ajax settings). Is there any way we can solve this issue?

Do you have any exclusions set by any chance? If the item is within that category, then it should be displayed – unless it is excluded somehow.

I mean that if one category is in primary category and other sub category is in another set of primary category, will the search be affected?

I don’t think it should be an issue. Primary and sub categories are equally treated in wordpress.

If you have an item which belongs to a sub-category, it should be tagged with the primary category as well, it’s generally a good practice.

I have created a search bar for a subcategory, so it is only showing those articles which has that sub category selected, if the primary category is some other the search bar is not showing.
