Hi Ernest,

I’m trying to achieve a specific behavior but can’t seem to find the right settings.

What I want is:

• When the user clicks the search bar on the navbar, the search input should expand (get longer) and overlay the homepage (ideally with a dimmed background or focus effect).
• This would help users clearly focus on the search and make products more visible during search interaction, especially on desktop.

I believe this should be possible with the Compact Box Layout and overlay features, but after checking the documentation and plugin settings, I haven’t been able to configure it properly.

Could you please guide me step-by-step on how to set this up?

I have one last question —
Is there any recommended way to optimize or speed up the Ajax search process, especially for larger product catalogs?
Sometimes there’s a noticeable delay, and I’d like to make the loading feel faster or more responsive for users.
