ParticipantGood evening Ernest,
I have translated the file into French at 99%. I made some screenshots where French translations are not possible.
In red, the sentences do not exist in the original .po file,
In orange, the sentences exist and are translated in the .po file but are not considered in the plugin interface.I send you the file in French anyway. There may be small corrections to make over time, you can be sure I’ll take care of it.
I have a question to ask you that has nothing to do with translation. I attach the problem.jpg file to explain the case:
In woocommerce products, I have an item with a sku V10NMS70042 (this item does exist in the database).
When I enter in the search bar another item (V10NMS70035), although it does not exist in the database, the search returns the result of the product V10NMS70042.
In the problem.jpg file, I used two different colors to illustrate the problem:
In the red rectangle, the product does not exist
In the green rectangle, the product exists in the database. Why does the search return a product with a sku that does not exist? If I had entered a part of the sku (ex: V10NMS700), ok, it is normal that the search returns the result V10NMS70042, but with V10NMS70035, the result should be empty.
Thanks to you and have a good weekend !
Regards.
Domi

KeymasterHi,
Thank you very much for the translation, you are awesome! I will keep adding the translatable string as much as possible. Some of them are not possible to add, but I will do my best.
As for the issue. Somewhere that string must match that result, otherwise it would not show up. It does not neccessarily have to be the SKU, it can be within the content, taxonomy, excerpt or any other selected custom field.
Try turning off these on the General Options -> sources 1 panel temporarily, to see if it still matches. You may find then which field was matching that phrase.September 3, 2022 at 5:30 pm #39198dom dom
ParticipantHello Ernest,
I was away on vacation which is why I did not answer you earlier.
Indeed, the term appears well in a description which corresponds to the article V10NMS70042. The woocommerce search should be on the ugs and the description. In some cases, it may be useful to search only on one or the other but not both.
Could we add an option on the front-end to select either the SKU AND the description on one hand and on the other hand, the SKU OR the description?
This would avoid creating a 1st search engine with the AND operand and a 2nd with the OR operand or adding a search engine with different sources 1.
The idea would be to group on the front-end in a drop-down list all the terms contained in source1 and to add the default option ‘all terms’. This way the user could choose to search for either a particular term or all terms as it is currently the case.
I don’t want to give you more work as I imagine you are already busy but it might be an idea to consider for future updates. It would add more flexibility for search and add more appeal for your plugin.
If you need help with the translation, I’ll be happy to help with future updates. And if you are interested in a Spanish translation, I can work on it as for the French language.
Regards.

KeymasterHi Domi,
I hope you had a great vacation 🙂
Well, I’m afraid this is not possible to do at the moment. I would recommend some custom code, but this is much too complicated for that.
I am open about translations for course – I leave it up to you 🙂
