ParticipantHello,
Unfortunately our site is an intranet, so it not helps if I give you the URL and login. The thing is we bought the pro version to use it to search in attachments but it is not searching in the uploaded PDF.
I disabled ajax search lite and imported its form to pro verison. After that I configured the pro version to searc and index attachments too.
I attached the screenshots of our configuration. Please kindly check if it is OK or not. We dont get any error message. All we can see the search bar says “Nothing Found Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.”We are waiting for your response.
Regards,
Ben

KeymasterHi,
Thank you for the details, I see a problem there.
On the first screenshot, the regular engine is chosen for the attachment search, so the indexed keywords have no effect whatsoever. To fix that, change this option: https://i.imgur.com/5bwnHXa.png
That should do the trick.September 10, 2019 at 9:17 am #23914KeskenyNyomda72
ParticipantHi Ernesto.
Thank you for the quick answer.
I made the changes what you sent to me via imgur but there is still no result when search for “Multi Faktor” phrase.
I made screenshots, please kindly check them.

KeymasterThank you.
Okay, I noticed you mainly use the non-live search feature. In that case, make sure that the search override is also activated. Does the live search return any results when enabled? (you can test it in the preview window as well on the back-end)

ParticipantHello,
Overriding is switched on and yes we have results for everything, except words and phrases in the attachments.
I attached screenshots again.
Thanks,

KeymasterHi,
In that case I suspect the file contents might not be indexed. Are the attachments returned correctly when searching their titles?
If so, then on the index table settings, try changing the PDF indexing methord from ‘Auto’ to first ‘PDF2Txt’, then indexing the documents again: https://i.imgur.com/T8Z7N1I.png
Then check if the total keywords count has increased, and try to search for the file now.
If no results still, try this again, but with the ‘Smalot parser‘ option.September 11, 2019 at 8:37 am #23925KeskenyNyomda72

I tried smalot as well: number of keyword decreased compared to pdf2text
Neither had not search result.September 11, 2019 at 2:30 pm #23927Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi,
Then it is very likely not indexed, but I am not sure. Can you please arrange temporary FTP and back-end access? I will have to debug the code, and see your configuration as well as the front-end in order to be able to tell where the issue is.

ParticipantHello Ernest,
I can not give you an FTP acces since its a cluster in our internal server.
Can you open this? https://tudasbazis.nyomda.hu/wp-login.php
If yes, I can give you an access to our back and. If no, I can not.

KeymasterHi Ben,
Unfortunately no, I cannot access that URL.

ParticipantWhat would you recommend?
September 12, 2019 at 11:52 am #23938Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHmm, could you upload one of the PDF files here, that cannot be found by the content? I will then try to upload it to a test server and see how it is indexed.

KeymasterThank you, that worked.
I uploaded and indexed the document on my local XAMPP environment, and it seems to be working okay, I did a few test searches:
– Test 1: https://i.imgur.com/rwNfwjP.png
– Test 2: https://i.imgur.com/uimJM7B.png
– Test 3: https://i.imgur.com/HeKI4cd.pngThe PDF is then okay, that is good news. Now the problem is either with the server not being able to run the indexing script, or there is something wrong with the search configuration.
Could you please create a new search instance, and only enable the search in attachments option, and change nothing else: https://i.imgur.com/1iaLwsm.png
Then do a few test phrases to see if the files are returned. If so, then there is only a configuration related issue with the other search bar.September 12, 2019 at 12:46 pm #23942KeskenyNyomda72
ParticipantI did, now I have two instances. Should I delete the other one? Should I do an other index?
I didnt change anything else but I still dont have search results.Check the screenshots please.
