Hi support team,
I am new to Ajax Search Pro and I want to ask if it is possible to use the search functionality of the plugin without the search bar:
so I only want to use the checkboxes, dropdown and radio buttons to filter my results. No need for my visitors to enter any search text.
Can I trigger the search without displaying the search bar ?Many thanks for your help…
January 23, 2016 at 10:08 am #7406Hi!
Actually, it is possible. Since you are not the first to ask, I’ve quickly put together a knowledge base article: https://wp-dreams.com/knowledge-base/how-to-use-filters-only-and-hide-the-search-bar/
Let me know if that helped!
Best,
Ernest Marcinko

I have the problem that the search does not work. The circle in the searchbar rotates but no results will be displayed. I disabeled my caching plugins (autoptimize and wp-rocket) and deleted the gzip and deflate in the htaccess but still it doesn’t work.
How can I debug the problem ?
Or can you have a look at my installation ?

You are getting a 403 error on the ajax_search.php file – it means that the installation is forbidden to access the custom ajax handler.
On the Compatibility Settings submenu turn off the Use the custom ajax handler? option: https://i.imgur.com/Zykr9ag.png
After saving, make sure to empty the cache and refresh a few times to make sure this change is applied. It should solve the problem.
