GavinJanuary 17, 2025 at 1:17 pm #52522Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi Gavin,
You can find the tutorial for that exact setup here.
I will make sure it’s linked on the demo page as well, I probably forgot to put it there.January 17, 2025 at 3:33 pm #52524gavindelaney_v9Km
ParticipantThanks for this but it doesn’t help me a massive amount really,
it doesn’t give enough information on setting up the actual search contents for a woocomerce store,
is there a tutorial for that?
I don’t need all the filters,
just a good search tool to help us search through our website for laptops, PCs etc,
is there a tutorial for this?

KeymasterHi again,
To search WooCommerce content, all you need to do is selecting the product post type (first screenshot in the tutorial).
After that the plugin will automatically return all products from the WooCommerce store. Also, make sure the search redireciton is set to the WooCommerce store result page, and that’s it.January 21, 2025 at 11:54 am #52559gavindelaney_v9Km
ParticipantHi,
ok thanks for this,
I have done this but the search doesn’t work very well for us still,
e.g.
we have a laptops category
when I search ‘laptop’ I get all our laptops,
when I search ‘Laptops’ I get nothing at all, this doesn’t make sense,
how do I change this type of behaviour? Thanks,
GavinJanuary 21, 2025 at 12:48 pm #52561Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi Gavin,
I assume you mean singular/plural keyword difference in this case? (laptop/laptops)
If the keyword “laptops” is not within the selected fields, then it’s not matching for that reason. In the upcoming release there will be an automated singularization/pluralization feature for the English language, it’s under testing.Currently it is still possible via a bit of custom code from this knowledge base. If you want I can set it up for you, all I need is temporary back-end and possibly FTP access.

Participantok thanks for that,
that makes sense, I can try that,
but like this isn’t the only issue,
is there more customization for how the search works,
eg. search in the categories of the product,
the search seems extremly basic for woocomerce searching,

KeymasterSure!
You can enable searching by categories (including product categories) via this option. If you want, you can also choose to search by product SKU as well.

Participantok thanks Ernest, let me try those and get back to you,
thanks for that,
also one, the auto complete, is there a way to do autocomplete for the products on the site?

KeymasterSure!
You can choose the “Post titles” as the main source, which in your case is going to be the Product titles: https://i.imgur.com/ojL6am7.png

ParticipantGreat thanks,
its starting to take shape now,
another question if possible,
just wanted to put the price of the product so it displays in the search how do I do this,
January 23, 2025 at 10:58 am #52601gavindelaney_v9Km
Participantalso if you can let me know, how do I make it not show products out of stock, and also make it not show hidden products
January 23, 2025 at 2:11 pm #52609Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterSure!
You can use the advanced title/content fields to display the price wherever you need it.
Also, for out of stock check this, and for hidden check this.I hope this helps!

ParticipantHi,
so the search is coming along nicely, thanks for your help so far,
just another question for you there,
so when searching for ‘laptops’ for example we get back 10 results of laptops in the search box dropdown,
but when we click the search icon to go to the results page we get all the laptops, 30+ options,
is there a way to show more options in the search box dropdown, or like a see more button,
just in this case unless you click search it looks like we only have 10 laptops,Thanks,

KeymasterYou are very welcome!
Sure, make sure the search override is enabled: https://i.imgur.com/AHxgZvH.png
That should do the trick 🙂 -
