    Hi,

    thats already enableed,

so I think thats a different solution to what I need,

what I am saying is that in the search box drop down there is only 10 results showing,

    it should be 30+ results,

so what I want is the search box drop down to show 30+ results,
or show 10 but have a button at the bottom saying ‘show more’ or something like that,

Oh, I’m sorry, I missunderstood you. This is what you are looking for: https://i.imgur.com/1PoesXN.png
Increase it to as much as you like, I usually recommend 100 max for the best user experience.

ok perfect, and is there an option for like a see more button or something on the bottom of the search box, which brings them to the results page?

    Hi,

a follow up question please if you can help me,

so we are looking to weight specific categories to get the search working correctly,

so for example, when we search ‘laptops’,
we get laptop bags etc up first before our laptops category,

    how do we change this?

    How do we prioritise laptops?

    Thanks,

    Hi!

There are two possible approaches to this.

    1. Increasing the weight of taxonomy term based matches and decrease the rest. That will generally prioritize keyword matches when the product category matches with the keyword and should push them above the title based matches: https://i.imgur.com/Atah2kj.png
I think this is the best solution, as it applies generally.

    2. Another possibility is using priority groups. This is a bit more advanced, but here you can select which categories to prioritize for which search phrase etc..

    Hi,

    ok I’ll try this,

only thing my relevance options are slightly different to yours,

    only option between 1-10 ,

and exact and random matches as 2 options instead of 1,

    how do I do this?

In that case set the Terms weight in both cases to Highest and the rest to Lowest, like so: https://i.imgur.com/bLYEHkF.png

    Hi,

ok i’ve tried that but I don’t think that is really what I need,

so basically what I need is,

I have 3 Woocomerce Product Categories

    Laptop Bundles
    Laptop Bags & Backpacks
    Refurbished Laptops

what I want is that when I used the search term ‘Laptops’ for example,
the products in Refurbished Laptops will appear first,

    is this possible?

Yes – for that you should use the priority groups instead, as it is a very specific case, that fits it better.

    Ok thanks,

I think I’ve got that worked out,
just need to work on it,

but just another one I’m struggling with here,
there seems to be a issue with it not showing some results when it should,

    so for example,

    we have tablets,
    2 Main Tablet categories
    Refurbished Tablets
    New Tablets,

    when I search Tablets,

I get all products in Refubished tablets category,
but none of the new tablets,

    why is this?

Make sure that the search by taxonomy terms is enabled, that could explain the issue, it is the most likely cause.v

    Hi Ernest,

    thanks for that,
but that didn’t seem to fix the issue,

so as I say when I search ‘Tablets’,
I’m not getting all the results,

so when the dropdown comes down it says “More Results…(99)”

when I click that on the results page there is only 50 results,

so I think there is some missing or something

do you know how to fix this?

    Thanks,
    Gavin

I think so. It sounds like that the number of results might be restricted to 50 on the results page. Can you please check and increase it here: https://i.imgur.com/njMFqaX.png
