ParticipantRan through Chapter 18.1. Disabling “Search while typing” was the answer for this particular implementation. Search is fast again. Thanks for all your help!

ParticipantThanks for catching the featured images. Solved that issue.
I hear what you’re saying with the P3 plugin. I’ve ran that before and I’ve tried all kinds of combinations of activating/deactivation plugins. What I found is even with only Ajax Search enabled, the slowness is still there.
I’ll work through the optimization stuff you sent over.

ParticipantBonus: Is there a way to turn off certain aspects of the plugin, prevent it from loading on certain pages, etc.? As it is now, I’m only implementing the search box on the page I gave you a link to. I’m trying to milk all the speed I can…out of the site.
Thanks,

ParticipantThank you. My fault – let me clarify further what I’m doing.
-I have an employee page named “Tom” and a non-employee page named “Home”.
-Tom has a custom field assigned named “Ajax Search”
-Home does not have a custom field assigned.
-Plugin: not showing/allownig users to change search settings criteria
-Plugin: configured to trigger on a minimum entry of 3 characters
-Plugin: on the General Options tab the only options I have turned on are Search in Pages, Search in Content and Search in Custom Fields > My custom field Ajax Search. Now, let’s say I do a search for “SEO”. This search shows results for Tom, but also shows results for Home.
We need Home and any other non-employee page to be ignored in search results.
Thanks again,

ParticipantFigured out my issue. If there is a way to do a pop up, feel free to respond. If there isn’t, feel free to close this ticket.
Thank you!

ParticipantIt would be really cool if the results could be display in a pop-up window.
