ParticipantCommunities wouldn’t have ‘sq_ft’ as a search criteria. ‘Floor Plans’ and ‘Home Listings’ custom post types would because they are relevant to the actual homes offered whereby people can search actual home details. Communities are just the neighborhoods/developments the homes reside in.

ParticipantSorry, I think since installing WP Rocket cache and ShieldPro Security plugin something is cancelling out /backoffice for the admin. So just use https://jamyershomes.com/admin or /wp-admin to login.
Yes, floor plan use those fields via ACF Pro

ParticipantSearch works much better now. Thank you.
I’ll have to try adjusting the isotopic results values.
Regarding all the filters on the home page search form… If I select to filter by community it doesn’t bring up any community results. Same thing happens when I select floor plans, then choose number of bedrooms and/or number of bathrooms or any of that extra filtering, it just says no home listings found. It’s supposed to bring up community and floor plan custom post type results. Now, it will bring up floor plans but without any additional filtering added. Are the filter fields below the checkboxes only valid for the home listings custom post type??? If so, those filter fields are pointless. I have no idea how to solve this dilemma. Can you help?

ParticipantThanks for switching the filter and pointing me in the right direction. I think I added a max-width of 1000px to the filter menu CSS via the additional CSS in the customized of WP. Not sure.
Regarding the search, It’s not showing very accurate results if you type “Two Story” for example. There are One Story Homes mixed into the results. I need the results to match the query. A few days ago, I’d type the name of a floor plan, McKinley or Wakefield as examples and no results found shows up. On mobile, however, it seems to me working now?? Not sure what else to say, I don’t think something is configured right.
Also, the search display thumbnails are very tiny on mobile. Wish there was a way to make them bigger? See screenshots. Furthermore, not sure if it’s a glitch or css conflict with my theme but the pagination numbers are shifted and not centered in the design. See screenshot

ParticipantI can try the block layout but I don’t like how it pushes all the content on the page down? I’m also not sure if I know how to enable the block design? Is that just for the filter drop down or does that impact the isotope search?
Also, not sure why, but if you try searching for a floor plan like “Wakefield” it’s returning zero results??? So help with how to fix this might be helpful as well.
Thank you!

ParticipantOnly problem I’m having now is that I cannot style the TRY keywords under the search box. Looks like you didn’t create a way to style the text. See my screenshot. There is a style applied to the word “Try:” but the keywords are using the default font size for the theme. I need to style the keywords so the size matches the “Try” title.

ParticipantHi Ernest,
I think I’m finally getting somewhere with the search features. I was wondering if you can help me with the following:
1) How can I show ‘occupancy’ ACF custom field under the title in the isotope results image? See screenshot. I really want people to be able to see at a glance what the occupancy and even lot number is. So how can I show more data inside the image other than title of the post type?
2) The filter menu is really hard to center under the search box. Can you help me figure out how to center the filter box and just make it responsive to match the width of the search box at whatever width it ends up in the space it fills? I hope that makes sense. I don’t want a max-width. Just want it to span the width of the actual search box.
Thanks,

ParticipantGotcha, thank you. I think you touched on this before…If I add a new ACF text field to the individual model post pages will AJAX Search Pro recognize the information I input into those fields, correct? So technically, and simply all I have to do is add a new ACF field. Admin Columns Pro recognizes those fields. Will the keywords I input be recognized, right? I understand some of the mixed numerical values that are mixed with strings might not. I think in my testing the keyword: “4 Bedrooms” actually was recognized by Ajax Search Pro so it’s probably not an issue. Anyway, I will go this route as it’s very simple to do on my end to extend the keywords for search and it can be displayed with Admin Columns Pro so that is great.

ParticipantOk, I understand but in the case of editing hundreds of possibly 1000s of keywords for individual posts, it actually would enhance and improve the user experience 10 fold. Imagine if you are in my shoes, having to click on each post one by one waiting for them to load each time, scrolling down to the bottom of the post, adding the keywords, hitting save the navigating back out of the post and selecting the next post, waiting for it to load and doing that process over and over and over again until you’re blue in the face! With allowing the field to be recognized by Admin Columns Pro, which is used by millions of WP users, you instantly make life easier for your customers.
I hope that was enough to convince you it is worth your time.
This feature along with conditional filtering would be amazing!
I suppose I could reach out to admin columns to see if they have a way of finding the Ajax search pro custom field for keywords? Perhaps they might have a way to access/find it from their setup? Or is it truly hidden from view?
By the way, I believe Admin Columns plugin has a free version you can use in your testing environment.
Well, I do appreciate all your help and happy that everything is working now. Hope you understand I’m a bit overwhelmed by the exhaustive amount of keyword combinations I’m going to have to go through adding, it’s gonna take a very long time. That’s why I was hoping for the editing improvement.
Kindly,

ParticipantThank you for explaining the level of complexity involved. There are Beds, Baths and Sq. Ft. Keywords on the individual model homes posts…see my screenshot. I suppose there’s no way for the plugin to recognize them like you said because they aren’t associated with the number.
Idea… can you make adding search keywords an inline edit option in the WP admin via “admin columns pro” that would save me a ton of time and effort since I’m going to manually start adding all my variations to each model home post. It’s so speedy to work inline without having to go into the “edit post” screen each time. I pulled the second attachment from their website.

ParticipantHello again,
I was able to get the models to come back up again which is good news. However, I have a few MUST-HAVE search settings that I need help with configuring…….1) Conditional filters on custom ACF field data associated with each other….Let me give this example: If a visitor selects “3” for Bedrooms out of the checkbox list. Is there a way to instantly hide or grey out the 3.5 baths, 3 Baths, 2.5 baths? Meaning, if the model post doesn’t have that data associated with “3” bedroom model homes, it will instantly grey or hide the unassociated values from other custom field checkboxes. Hope that makes sense. it would eliminate a lot of visitors from getting the “no results” message and getting frustrated because they can’t get a result to come up.
2) I STILL cannot figure out the SLIDER for Sq Ft. Right now it’s showing every individual value for each model home and visitors can multi-select as many as they want. However, this is quite annoying because if they select 3 beds, 2 baths and pick a sq ft amount that doesn’t match a model home it will not show any results. I REALLY need the sq ft to be more of a range. For example: If the slider was set to 1000 – 5000 sqft and the user decides to stop at say 1500 sq ft. it would show any home 1500 and above perhaps to 1599. It would help eliminate NO RESULTS from happening every time.
3) I still cannot get searches typed directly in the search box to show model homes when I type the following keywords (without manually added them to each model post, which is very tedious since I have 76 model homes I’d have to individually add custom keywords to.
Any number associated with word….
3 beds, 3 bedrooms
3 baths, 3 bathrooms
If I type a singular number in like 3, nothing comes up. Models that have 3 beds, or baths should come upBy the way, I have CONVERTED Beds, Baths and Sq Ft. to a number field successfully.
Again, in the filter box the Beds, baths and sq ft will actually query results but if I type the info in the search box NOTHING comes up.
The only way I can get homes to pop up in the search box is if I type the Name of the model home ) which is the post title. Such as Remilee, Aubrey, etc.
I’m so sorry for the long support requests, but I need to get this right so I can make my client happy.

ParticipantI don’t know what is happening. In the filter menu it won’t even let me choose a drop down value and the search keeps only showing the first criteria. Please help, I have no idea what is going on. I didn’t even change anything. It’s like the search is stuck on the first values in each field. Sorry. It was working great, now it’s not anymore.

ParticipantRegarding #2:
For some reason Since I turned that feature off now the filters are stuck on each filter options first value??? See my screenshot. I even added the rest button but it won’t clear any of the fields? I have no idea 🤷🏻♂️ what just happened. I Only change I made was for the Categories to be unselected but default because it felt backwards to already have all the categories pre-selected. Although checking the option to have categories deselected by default doesn’t seem to be working anyway. I cleared my cache. Please help.
Thanks,
Kenny-
