its searching now but its still not finding anything. try searching for math 1330 or 1331 both of those are groups and they are not loading.

Yes, I ended up completely starting over with a new fresh wordpress. thats the only thing that fixed it. Sorry, please close this ticket.

both versions are 3.8.1 and the only other plugin related to buddypress is the buddypress group documents which i have on the working site as well
