I’m not familiar with what Hovertips is, but this is definitely not an issue with the search I’m afraid. The highlight seens to be the source code of the plugin itself.
Can I at least take a look at the issue somewhere?

I’m afraid this is not possible. Usually I recommend a customization where I can, but this is far more complicated as it’s handled by the front-end script (hard coded).

For your issue, make sure to read this documentaion first. Basically you want to set the settings visiblity and layout to block here.
To restrict all results to a specific category, check this documentation, it should explain everything.
All right, I tried now again and it’s all right. It must have been a temporary server issue or something.
Either way, it looks to be possible. I have adjusted only one setting, this one. Now whatever is set on the post inclusions is going to be included only in the results.
There is no such thing in native wordpress unfortunately, that is either a plugin feature or custom coded.
Can you please add temporary back-end details so I can see how it works exactly? If it’s actually categories/taxonomy terms, then there is hope.

Thank you very much for the details!
The issue was, that that result was referring to an individual “tablepress table”, as it was selected under the post types. Tablepress uses that post type to store the table contents, but it’s not actually viewable, only embeddable in posts and pages.
To fix that, I have switched to the index table and deselected the table, as it’s going to be indexed automatically: https://i.imgur.com/1KzZk0C.png
Now searching the GH505CAA1302N part number will correctly return the parts index page, where it had been picked up from the table contents.
