Yes, actually someone else asked about something very similar, and I was able to suggest a solution. It involves a piece of custom code, but you won’t need to edit the plugin files.
Put the following script to the footer of your site, just before the closing body tag (usually in footer.php file in the active theme directory):
Explanation: This code executes every time when the plugin displays the results, and closes the filters box immediately after.
