Love the plugin and all of it’s many options but what I’m trying to figure out is if your plugin can do anything close to the search on this site that my client is requesting? http://www.dickhannah.com/new/

That is only partially possible. Dynamical (filters updating on their own) filtering is not yet available.
It is however possible to create taxonomy term and custom field (post meta) based filters as well.

Can you tell me why when choosing a Location here http://www.pacificgolfturf.com/rentals/ such as Portland, the results bring back a list of color options at the top? Color is an attribute in the Products but not one of the filters.

It’s most likely because you might have set to return attributes in the search sources section. On the General Options -> Sources 2 panel, make sure to have everything disabled/unselected: https://i.imgur.com/Cy5Mkd5.png
