Inappropriate matches

Hi,

I’m having difficulty getting appropriate related content to show in the plugin whilst showing products and posts. On many pages it’s working fine, but on others, the suggestions don’t seem relevant at all. Take for example this destination guide

https://southeastasiabackpacker.com/senggigi-lombok-indonesia/

There are many posts and pages on the site about other places in Indonesia, including Lombok and Bali, which appear in the tags and in the case of Lombok, the title and the slug. But for some reason, the suggestions that come up at the bottom are unrelated, sharing no tags, categories, or title elements.

If I chose “Look for content from the same tags only” I get far more appropriate matches, but then lose the option of woocommerce products showing up in the suggestions.

I’m sure I simply haven’t set the configuration properly. Please, is there anything you can suggest to help keep the products in the suggestions without losing the relevance?

Hi!

I’ve checked your configuration, it mostly looks okay to me. I have however changed a few things that may help you get more relevant results:
– I have increased the title relevance and decreased the others, so items with more similar titles are prioritized: https://i.imgur.com/Ra8Odjz.png
– I have also changed the keyword occurence and minimum length: https://i.imgur.com/ySFkjLc.png
This will make sure that only longer words, and words that occur more frequently are taken into account.
I suggest experimenting with these options, they usually have a major impact on the results.

Great! Thanks for your help!

I’ll have a play around with those two areas if I come across anything, but it looks like it’s already making better matches, so I imagine I’ll just manually choose the related content if I find the odd page that doesn’t seem quite right.
