Hello, my name is Jamie, I’m the webdesigner of the website https://pussycatandbird.com/selected-by-us/ and have your search bar installed on this page. Compliments on the plugin, it works great. My client wants to make some adjustments – she wants to have the exact same search bar (in functionality) as on https://www.designspiration.net -> when you type in a word (like ‘interior’) and click enter, you go to a page with results on interior. In the search bar above you can still see the word ‘interior’, so you see what you searched for on that page. When you click on the ‘x’ next to ‘interior’ you go back to the main page.

Is this possible with your plugin? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jamie,

Thank you very much for your kind words, I really appreciate them.

I’m afraid that is not possible with this plugin. That seems like specially custom made search solution. It looks very cool though.

    Hi Ernest,

Thanks for your reply. And it isn’t possible to create a similar search bar – are the following options possible:
    – Is it possible to go to a seperate page when you type in your search word?
    – If it is possible to go to a seperate page, is it possible to have that search word displayed in your search bar when going to that seperate page?
    – If it is possible to go to a seperate page, is it possible to manipulate the way the posts are shown – e.g. can you show 9 posts on this page and click on next page (with pagenumbering, like on https://pussycatandbird.com/selected-by-us/)

    Thanks for your answer.

    Hi,

There is a redirection feature, that allows you to redirect to the default search results page, when either clicking the magnifier icon or hitting the return button. The plugin however cannot affect this page, the results page is controlled by the currently active theme.

    Hi Ernest,

Thanks for your reply. I made show the redirection feature is in place and everything works good now. However, not all the tags are being searched for. For example, when you search for ‘fotobehang’ you go to the following page https://pussycatandbird.com/?s=fotobehang and see 0 results. However, you can see there is 1 post with the tag ‘fotobehang’: https://pussycatandbird.com/tag/fotobehang/ so I do not understand why 0 results are shown.

Could you help me with this issue? Thanks.

    Hi,

Make sure that the search override feature is enabled, then the searches conducted via the ajax search pro search bar should give you the correct results. If you choose the same search bar here, then the default results page should also be overwritten with these results, even if the search was not made via the plugins search bar.

    Best,
